The Hutt City administration building project is now enclosed . The contractor Naylor Love and glazing supplier Thermosash have assisted with the supply and installation of dramatic new facades utilizing low iron glass in unitised frames. The new west elevation incorporates a digital image of the original external wall, demolished in the 1960s. The project involves the seismic upgrade of the mid-century building and the creation of a new contemporary workplace for the council’s staff, customer service desk, mayor’s office and Council Chamber. The new facades visually connect the workplace to Riddiford gardens which are also in the process of upgrade.
