Wellington College Memorial Hall - Alan Gibbs Centre, was the recipient of an NZIA Wellington Architecture Award last night. The event was held in the Banquet Hall at the Beehive. There are many to people to acknowledge for a project of this size including our office, other consultants, the contractor and the school community.
Special acknowledgement needs to be given to the generous financial contributions given by old boys. Their donations largely, if not completely, funded the building. Many others have given their time including Paul Retimanu, the Board of Trustees chair, and his predecessor Peter Schuyt; the principal Gregor Fountain, and his predecessor Roger Moses; and architect John MIlls who was instrumental as a BoT member in 2011 in initiating the competition to design the building.
